Uncle Tom's Cabin is an anti-slavery novel by Harriet Beecher Stowe. The book is about a slave named Tom who is sold many times and endures physical abuse from his masters and slave drivers. Stowe's depiction of slavery was influenced by her Christianity and exposure to abolitionist writings. The book was an immediate best seller.
