The Biography of Acharya Vinoba Bhave is the brief life sketch of a great social reformer and spiritual teacher who was considered the next to Mahatma Gandhi.
Motivated by his desire to attain the imperishable and all pervading Brahma, he left his home and studies in a very young age. He studied the ancient Sanskrit texts to quench his thirst of spiritual knowledge.
He was greatly inpressed by Mahatma Gandhi and joined his Ashram as his disciple. He was deeply involved in Gandhi’s constructive programmes related to Khadi, Village industries, new education, sanitation and hygiene.
Vinoba was also involved in Individual Satyagrah and Quit India Movement. After the Independence of India when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated, Vinoba was considered as his successor by many people.
He initiated the Bhoodan and Sarvodaya Movements. He even persuaded many dreaded dacoits of Chambal ravines to surrender and get reformed.
The inside pages consist of an enlightening account of his life—how a humble village boy of Maharashtra rose to become such a great person that he was considered even as the spiritual successor of great Mahatma Gandhi.
